Gothic Clothing Began a new Sub-Culture

The popular onset of gothic clothing has created a brand new subculture of its own. Gothic clothing is commonly designed in blacks, deep reds, and other darker colors. Gothic clothing that is made up of fine silks, velvets, and leather are the most popular. The gothic scene has many different types of Goths. This is where outsiders make mistakes. They mistake Goths for a different group that is mostly made up of early teens. The Goths generally call them Mansonites or Kindergoths. This is where the teenagers follow the band Marilyn Manson and wear black, but usually applies their makeup and clothes as if they had just come from the garbage. People outside of the gothic culture just don't realize that dressing in black, applying their makeup clumsily, and telling people that you enjoy the music of Marilyn Manson is when some outsiders to the culture cross the borders to offensiveness. Goths split into many different categories. However I have reduced it to major characteristics. Some of them may dress in flowing gowns of velvet, lace, and satin. Their look is Victorian and they may sometimes wear corsets to express that era. Other types of gothic clothing include: vinyl, PVC, chains, and chokers. In general you may often see Goths with primarily black hair, but they also experiment with reds, purples, and blues. Their skin is generally pale white. Many times it is to achieve a dead look. Other goths think back to the Victorian Era where paleness was a sign of nobility. Many different races enjoy the subculture as well. All of these looks and actions are not limited to just women. Men in the Gothic scene are often harassed for wearing skirts. When you think of gothic clothing it is most common for people to think of vampire-like clothing.
